Horror movies

I am a fan of the horror genre.  But there are times that I wish for a happy ending. There were more of those in the older horror films.  Sure, a lot of kids died at the hands of Freddy Krueger, but there was always a survivor who beat the odds with a combination of brains, bravery, luck, and at times divine intervention. 

Ever see a movie so well produced that you become emotionally invested in a character and root for them?  At the end it looks like they have beat evil, then from out of the blue there is a quick one two punch to the solar plexus, and they fall flat on their faces, trapped, or worse yet, taking a dirt nap. You may feel betrayed, even angry.  You may find yourself saying...."damn, that was a good movie but the ending sucked", or "Is this it?  That's how it ends!!!???"  Or so angry that the character died you find yourself  wishing for the time back spent viewing the damn film.

Sometimes ife imitates art.

I want the alternate ending.
